Development and Protection
I believe that Man has innately carried the sensitivity
of "sixth sense" or "second sight", down through the ages with
him and as he has evolved, that ability has gradually
weakened, in the majority, due to the less threatening nature
of life generally. The gift was first used as a system of
protection,that intuitive feeling, of all not being safe and
well. Also before verbal communication, it was a meaning of
passing primal information to others in the species.
Dogs have this ability and are able to cross transfer with
their owners; there are many stories confirming
this; the dog "knowing" of danger, of illness etc of
the master / mistress.
In terms of attuning and communing with the higher
vibration of the spirit energies, again, Man has the
ability, but the environment often dilutes or negates this,
through opinion and religious indoctrination. In children,
the gift is frequently recognised. In their innocence and
recent return from the realms of the spirit world, they say
what they see and hear, without fear of ridicule or horror.
There are many people who retain the natural gift of
mediumship. These are often the children, who have been
encouraged to speak, and share their experiences. Quite usually
around the age of puberty, the gift seems to recede or rather
, be placed on a back burner, while the young person
experiences, to the full, their worldly existence. One hears
occasionally, of these youngsters becoming the focus, for
unwanted spirit activity. It is rare; and often a
result of psychic or telekinetic energy (movement of objects
by energy), as opposed to actual spirit presence.
The spectrum of mediumistic development is very broad
indeed. After many years as a teaching medium, my personal
observation, confirms that the "born medium" is able to
develop potentially in more varying and profound depth, than
one who has no previous experiences, but the gift
nevertheless can flourish within each of us, if we come
forward in sincerity and commitment.
If we imagine ourselves to be rough diamonds, looking no
more attractive than garden stones, and acknowledge, that in
due course, with time and patience, we develop possibly
multiple gifts within the range, facets, will begin to be
shaped and polished, on our lumps of "rock" and we begin to
acquire a quiet confidence, in working for spirit
guides, friends and loved ones.
There are many aspects under the heading of development. Some
will achieve one of these and serve spirit well, while others
will find they are able to serve, in a variety of ways.
You will have heard of the the 3 clairs; clair being
the French word for clear; clairvoyance, clairaudience,
clairsentience; clear seeing, hearing, sensing. Highly developed
mediums may work, using a combination of the three or they
may develop one to a very high, finely attuned degree. Doris
Stokes, for example was clairaudient and rarely saw spirit.I
am fortunate to work on many vibrations, having
seen, heard, sensed from early childhood.
Spirit will also use the mediums natural talents as a
channel to do their work e.g via inspirational
writing, prose, fact, poetry. Psychic art at its best, will prove
survival of death without a word heard or spoken the object
being to be recognised in portrait, whatever the medium
(excuse pun) used.
There is a vast difference in developing psychic abilities
to those of mediumship; mediumship is dependent
upon the ability to give recognisable and correct information
about the personality and life of the communicator, with
possible detail regarding the recipient and their dear ones
, on either side of life. Psychism is a focus upon a vibration
around and within the sitter, with no link to the spirit. An
energy link of a different kind. It is always advisable to
work on your mediumstic refinement and attunement in a group
, led by an experienced medium.
I would NEVER advise a D.I.Y. course using a book. In circle
you can be taught to expect and accept communication at any
level, from only the highest and the best. Remember that like
does attract like; light and love will attract the same.
Prayer, knowledge and confidence to deal with anything at
all; will arm you well for a trouble free development. Always
approach new learning and experience positively, not in fear
of unknown.
In the event of not feeling in control or able to take
responsibility for self; then use this emergency
kit; imagine that you are surrounded completely by
white vibrant light, an encompassing and loving light which
will protect you from harm. Essentially always approach
spirit with the respect they deserve, ask to be used and at
the end of that time close in prayer of thanks knowing that
all will be well. It is not acceptable to remain
constantly "open" to spirit energies. We are earthly with the
ability to attune. The time and frequency of the attunement
, is your decision. You open, or are closed and getting on with
day to day things. In that way linking with spirit will always
remain special and be executed in a competent and caring
way.
